Donations and Campaign Finance Disclosure
Ohio and federal election law require political campaigns to publicly disclose certain information about their donors. If you make a contribution to Friends to Elect Sherer, we are required by law to collect your name, mailing address, occupation, and employer.
For contributions above certain reporting thresholds, this information is submitted to, and becomes part of the public record maintained by, the Stark County Board of Elections and/or the Ohio Secretary of State. This means information tied to a reportable donation — unlike information you share elsewhere on this site — may be publicly accessible as part of campaign finance disclosure filings, regardless of our own privacy practices.
We collect and report this information only as required by law, and we do not use it for any purpose beyond compliance, campaign administration, and the communications described in this policy.
Payment Processing
Donations made through this website are processed by ActBlue, a third-party payment processor. Your credit card and other payment information is entered directly into ActBlue’s secure system and is never collected or stored on our own servers. ActBlue’s use of your information is governed by its own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review.
Marketing
Friends to Elect Sherer would like to send you information about our campaign, events, and ways to get involved that we think you might be interested in.
If you have agreed to receive marketing communications, you may opt out at any time.
You have the right at any time to stop us from contacting you for marketing purposes.
